Mediterranean Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Συνάντηση Ιδρυτικών Μελών (MACMFS)

It is with great pride and enthusiasm, that we are announcing that, the idea of ​​creating the Mediterranean Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, which began bac in 2023, during the First Mediterranean Conference in Limassol, which was successfully organized under the supervision of the President Dr. Zoe Nikolaou and the Cyprus Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CYAOMS), is now a reality, through MACMFS.

The vision of Dr. Zoe Nikolaou, which was embraced by the Italian Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, became a reality at the meeting of the Founding Members, for the confirmation of the establishment of the Association of Mediterranean Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (MACMFS) and the signing of the relevant constitution.

In the founding meeting in Taormina, Sicily, doctors from 10 countries such as Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Greece, Serbia, Turkey participated via physical presence, while France, Spain and Slovenia gave their presence online.

The meeting took place between November 15 and 16 during which important decisions were made for the election of the Board of Directors and the representatives of each country. On the second day of the meeting, the professionals in the field presented the development of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in their country and the methods they follow.

Dr. Zoe Nikolaou shared with her colleagues the importance of Cyprus being a pioneering center for operations and a safe medical destination for patients from all over the world.

The evolution and development of major operations currently being carried out in Cyprus, regarding the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are of high standards and become examples for professionals to follow. Especially, undertaking the treatment of patients with cancer and of patients with skeletal deformities, in combination with the creation of custom-made 3D implants, are considered state-of-the-art procedures of high importance and are dramatically changing the lives of our patients, for the better, emphasized Dr. Zoe Nikolaou, during her presentation.
